I think that working out at Ladies Workout Express is one of the best things i've ever done for myself and my daughter. I've been a member about eight years now and my 15 year old daughter has been training with Ashleigh for almost two years (she absolutely loves it). Now that she is 15 (just turned) she wants to become a member too. I absolutely love the classes. They have all different levels for all levels of fitness and believe me the advanced classes are extremely challenging, I always see results. The instructors are great, they are very motivational and encouraging. Kim is very serious and passionate about fitness, she makes working out fun and challenging.
I love the fact that it is a ladies only gym and the women that go there are serious about working out. I've worked out at co-ed gyms before and that was fine, but I really appreciate the women only atmosphere. It just keeps things simpler and more laid back for me. I'm a busy mom with three kids and I dont have much time for chit chat. I'm there to work out and thats it, I certainly dont want to feel pressure about how I look or whos looking. Anyway I love working out with the women at Ladies Workout Express and the opportunity to do so has been a true blessing in my life. To go there is simple, quick and I see and feel results. Not only has it been good for my physical health, but for my mental and emotional health as well.
Sincere thanks,
Tania Plemmons

I joined LWE 15 years ago when I moved to Asheville. I have always done some sort of exercise, after becoming quite heavy my freshman year in college, in 1972. I joined a gym with my Mother (who quit after one month), and was always trying to maintain my weight since that time. I was anorexic when I was 18, and dropped to 86 lbs., so when I woke up to the fact that I was literally killing myself by slowly starving, I had to learn to eat (literally), all over again.
I'm sure everyone has their history of some sort, and this was mine. I will problably never let myself get too heavy, by working out a lot, but is that a bad addiction?
I have recently started working full time at a new job. My hours are really different every week and it has really become a challenge to fit in my workouts. I hate that I can't work out as much as I used to but it is not an option, it is my life. I wish that all women felt that way about it being part of your lifestyle, because I have known some folks that join the gym, and then after coming once or twice, they quit coming. Then they try to close down their membership at LWE, and get mad when they can't. Working out should be like keeping an appointment. And if you are paying for it, you should get your money's worth out of it!!!
Honestly, I work out like a mad woman because I like to eat! My daughters are always saying that I am work out addict, but I plan on living a long life to show them how important keeping moving is. It never ceases to amaze me how much better I feel after going to the gym, when I have had to force myself to go when I haven't felt like it. Being a nurse really doesn't have that big an impact on my motivation to exercise, I just can't not do it. I am hoping in the next decade that as a whole obese folks can lose weight and get in shape from all walks of life.
So to all of the instructors, friends at LWE, and especially Kim, Thank you for your support and friendship, because you make my world a much finer place.
